Chris completed his training as a in Mediation in 1993 with the Attorney-Mediator Institute; he has mediated more than 1,000 family law cases and has facilitated a settlement in more than 90 percent of those matters.

Chris was among the first Texas lawyers to be trained in Collaborative Family Law in January 2000. He has participated in a variety of family law cases using the collaborative model. He is a member of the International Association of Collaborative Professionals and is a member of the first Collaborative Law practice group to be formed in the Houston area.

Chris is a frequent speaker and author. He served as a director on the board of the Houston Bar Association Family Law Section from 1998-2001 and is a past president of the Gulf Coast Family Law Specialists and served on the board of that organization from 1996 until 2004. Chris has also served on the board of the Houston Lawyer Referral Service. He has been a member of the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists since 1994.
